  14. You are 'timing out' because you don't have a connection.

  21. Two possibilities are: Faulty modem (I had to replace mine after this
  22.                        happened to me for 2 months) Or incorrect settings.
  23.                        Try reloading the factory settings with AT&F.

  25.                        And the other possibility is your serial settings.
  26.                        the startnet script and your terminal program or
  27.                        dialup script baud rate must match.
